Klipsch La Scala AL5 floorstanding Speaker from the Heritage series was initially built for professional use but has become a popular audiophile solution delivering the highest quality audio in your home, down to the most minuscule of details. A single watt generates sound pressure measuring 105 decibels so La Scala is sure to delight listeners even paired with the most modest of power amplifiers.
Neodymium Tweeter
La Scala hosts a neodymium tweeter with a 1” lightweight polyimide diaphragm and copper-clad aluminum voice coil. The assembly and strong magnet design deliver high sensitivity for the most efficient consumer tweeter currently available. When paired to a 90° x 40° Tractrix horn, the tweeter establishes new dynamic range and output standards.
Midrange Driver
Klipsch views the midrange as one of the most crucial components in any loudspeaker design. Consequently, La Scala’s midrange features a 2” compression driver coupled to an ultra-efficient exponential horn that optimises power and performance. Distortion is reduced by the amplifier and loudspeaker granting a clear, accurate, and remarkable tonal definition.
Engineering
Klipsch La Scala’s aluminum panel hosts large, premium-grade speaker cables. Sturdy and versatile binding posts enable bi-wiring or bi-amping. AudioQuest Type 4 with Star-Quad Geometry wiring is employed using carbon-loaded insulation, nitrogen-injected PE, and robust long-grain copper conductors.
Matched Wood Veneer
Only book-matched wood veneers are used for the Heritage series. These are delicately sliced from the timber and meticulously arranged for a mirror image at the splice just like turning the pages of a book. This cut of wood veneer is aesthetically pleasing and consistent in appearance. The LF and HF enclosures are matched for refined grain and continuous color from top to bottom.
Grain-matched Pairs
Each cabinet pair is grain-matched, using wood veneer panels from the same timber so they are practically indistinguishable from each other. The speakers are labeled with sequential serial numbers to ensure they leave the factory as a carefully crafted set.
Built to Last
Each component is made to last with a focus on the unique and vital role of the cabinet in the sound reproduction process. From the proud craftsmen in Arkansas to the engineers in Indianapolis, Klipsch prioritises extraordinary cabinet design. La Scala is produced in the USA to Klipsch's toughest-in-industry standards. The enclosure is assembled using only the highest-grade adhesives and fasteners resulting in a speaker with heirloom potential.
